I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Holy bananas Batman!!! This book had me all in my feelings and totally made me miss my usual meal prep Sunday, but damn was it worth it. I laughed, cried, screamed and talked to the characters. Twyla has done it to me once again, I was totally invested in Chase and Day from the beginning. I can relate to the whole best friends turning to lovers and I know the feelings but this book right here had me feeling and thinking all kinds of things. Loved that this story spanned years we see them grow up we felt all of their pain, their joy their happiness, love. Half way through I was ready to choke Twlya she had me on an emotional roller coaster and I wanted to be done with her but damn she brought me right back to needing to know what was going to happen. I hardly ever revisit a book but oh man this book has me in my feelings and I'm in love with Chase and Day. So I will be going back.Product details

Chasing Day and Catching Day will seriously take you on a trip down memory lane. From side pony tails to baby doll dresses and scrunch socks I found myself yelling OMG. And I totally had a NKOTB backpack and lunch box too. Their story seemed so real and I could find myself relating to them on so many levels. There were many times both Chase and Day made me want to scream. Why can't you just live happily ever after?!?! But lets be honest love is not easy. Young love sure isn't easy. Seeing them grow from cute little kids to young star crossed lovers to mature adults was great. Seeing the many trials and tribulations they endured throughout their friendship and love affair made me root for them even more. I found myself many times feeling all the pain and frustration they both felt. There was always something testing the strength and durability of their love. But when real love is meant to be, not even time will diminish those feelings. Chase and Day despite the loss, distance, time and a certain hating a** female overcame it all and proved true love will always wins. I hope you all enjoy their story as much as I did. There was no hesitation from me in giving Ms. Turner a 5 star rating for her wonderful story.
I received this as a ARC for my honest review. Daylen Daniels and Chase McCoy started off as childhood friends, who shred each others secrets, hopes and dreams. Chase is the captain of the football team and Day is shy who hides behind her weight and her cello. As they grow up they become attracted to each other . This is about to damaged souls that found each other at a young age became friends, and became the person that each needed to understand their true selves.
They experience heartache and separations as they each pursue their goals and dreams. There are parts in the book that I had be screaming in frustration at the dumb things they did to each other in their relationship. Day I felt was insecure with her body image and had self-esteem issues due to the fact her father was not in her life. Chase was the product of a abusive father and a submissive mother. Throw in other people who did not want Chase and Day to be together during High School and later on in life made this a very good book. I read it in one day. I could not put it down and was mad when work kept getting in the way. I don't want to give away any spoilers to those who have not read the book. Trust me you will not be disappointed. I would highly recommend this book another fantastic job by Twyla Turner.
Let me start by saying I have never been so emotionally affected by any of the hundreds of books I've read. Maybe this hit home for me on certain things but these books have become my FAVORITE thing to have ever laid my eyes on... to have ever let my mind run wild with. I can't express the pure LOVE I have for these books and the characters. I just finished them a few minutes ago and my eyes are still tearing. I bawled like a baby one I reached the last page. Like UGLY crying. My nose running and all.
Twyla, I have just about finished up all of your books and I am making it official that you have become my favorite author. I need to leave reviews for the other books I've read. PLEASE keep doing what you do. I'm already hungry for more from you. I'm also very impatient lol.
Anyway, to wrap this up... anyone who reads these amazing books I hope you enjoy and love them as much as I did.

The best aspect that I appreciated about this book series was how simple and complex Day and Chase's relationship is. When girl next door meets boy next door they form a warm hearted friendship that blossoms into love. I love how Day transforms from a shy sweet girl to a passionate driven woman following her dreams and I really liked Chase's character. Most authors write the male characters super chauvinistic alpha male types and it's so cliche and boring, so I really appreciated the sweet yet strong and kind Chase. From day 1, despite having a tumultuous upbringing he still saw the kindness in others, especially Day. And although they went through trials, Twyla Turner have a realistic story about of love is transformative and sometimes causes pain, but also beauty. Not to mention all the 90s and 2000s references were really well versed and Incorporated, felt like I went back in time again!
Overall, for people who enjoy reading books especially Interracial that aren't your typical cliche billionaire or alpha male romances and like boy and girl next door romance, it's definitely more refreshing and worth your while
